I can't believe the bloody timing of this. I'm busy packing to go up North for a few days and I'd planned to shoot the hell out of my home town and Newcastle with the new Lomo. Fat chance of that happening!  I've just pulled it out of the bag and the bloody shutter won't fire.  I haven't even had this thing for a month.  I was only on my second roll of film, for goodness sake! AAAAARGH! What are the bloody odds of that, eh?

Well, more the monochrome side, really. I thought, for my second bite of the Lomo cherry, I'd load it up with some nice and grainy Ilford HP5 and see what happens.  Problem is, ever since, I've been seeing colour rather than contrast.  Like the chrome and imperial-purple Harley that cruised through my village the other day. I mean... really... that kinda thing doesn't cruise past my house every day, you know.  I nearly snapped my arm clean off trying to get the lomo out of the bag to even get the shot, but I spent so long worrying about my lack of colour that I totally missed the moment. I can't tell you how long I've wanted a Lomo LC-A and I've never quite gotten around to it... Until last week! Taking full advantage of their 1-day 25% off sale, I finally plucked up the courage to become a member of that strange cult that is LOMO.  I've just scanned-in my first set of negs and I'm LOVEING the lo-fi-ness of it all.  It's the very antithesis of everything that Digital stands for.
